Terms of Service

Last updated: March 11, 2026

⚠️ Service Notice

Dance of Tal is under active development. The Service, including the registry infrastructure, may undergo significant changes at any time. We reserve the right to modify, delete, or reset registry data — including published Assets, user statistics (stars, downloads), and associated metadata — without prior notice. We recommend keeping local backups of any Assets you publish.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Dance of Tal ("DOT", "the Service"), including our website, CLI tools (dance-of-tal), DOT Studio (dot-studio), API, MCP server, and registry, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

DOT is an agent manager for agentic AI. The Service consists of multiple components:

  • Registry & Website — A public registry where users discover, publish, and install modular AI configuration packages ("Assets"), including Tals (personas), Dances (rules & skills), Performers (locked Tal + Dance pairs), and Acts (multi-performer orchestration workflows).
  • CLI (dance-of-tal) — A command-line tool and MCP server that enables AI coding assistants (Cursor, Windsurf, Claude Desktop, Antigravity, Codex, etc.) to install, manage, and apply Assets within local project directories.
  • DOT Studio (dot-studio) — A visual workspace for composing, editing, and running Performers and Acts. Studio runs locally and connects to OpenCode for AI execution.

3. User Accounts

You may create an account using GitHub OAuth. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. Your GitHub username becomes your protected namespace in the registry — only you may publish Assets under your namespace.

4. User Content & Published Assets

You retain ownership of any Assets you publish to the registry. By publishing, you grant DOT a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, distribute, index, and make your Assets available to other users through the Service.

You represent and warrant that you have the right to publish any content you submit, and that your content does not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights, including but not limited to copyrights, trademarks, patents, or trade secrets.

Intellectual Property Disclaimer: DOT does not verify, audit, or guarantee the intellectual property ownership or licensing status of Assets published by users. The publisher bears sole responsibility for ensuring that their Assets comply with applicable intellectual property laws. DOT shall not be held liable for any intellectual property disputes, claims, or damages arising from user-published Assets. If you believe an Asset infringes your intellectual property rights, please contact us via our GitHub repository for a takedown request.

Data Notice: We may collect, analyze, or aggregate published Asset data for purposes of improving the Service, including but not limited to quality assessment, content moderation, trend analysis, and feature development. We may also delete published Assets or registry data at our discretion for operational, technical, or policy reasons.

5. CLI & MCP Server Usage

The DOT CLI and MCP server operate within your local environment. When you install Assets via the CLI:

  • Asset files are downloaded from our registry and placed into your local .dance-of-tal/ directory.
  • The CLI may send requests to the registry API (registry.dance-of-tal.workers.dev) to resolve, download, and verify Assets.
  • Download counts are recorded for analytics purposes.
  • The CLI does not access, read, or transmit your source code, project files, or local filesystem contents beyond the .dance-of-tal/ workspace directory.

6. DOT Studio Usage

DOT Studio runs locally and communicates with:

  • OpenCode — For AI model execution. Your prompts and conversation data pass through OpenCode as configured in your environment.
  • DOT Registry — For browsing and installing Assets into your workspace.

You are responsible for configuring API keys and model providers used by Studio. We do not store or have access to your API keys or AI conversation contents.

7. AI-Generated Output Disclaimer

DOT Assets (Tals, Dances, Performers, Acts) configure and influence the behavior of AI models, but DOT does not control, guarantee, or take responsibility for any output generated by AI models operating under these configurations. AI-generated outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, misleading, or inappropriate regardless of the Asset configuration applied.

You acknowledge that:

  • AI model behavior is inherently non-deterministic, and the same Asset may produce different results across different executions, models, or contexts
  • You are solely responsible for reviewing, validating, and assuming liability for any AI-generated output produced while using Assets from the Service
  • DOT shall not be held liable for any damages, losses, or consequences arising from AI-generated outputs, including but not limited to code errors, security vulnerabilities, data loss, or business decisions made based on AI outputs

8. Prompt Injection & Malicious Asset Risk

Assets published to the registry may contain instructions that influence AI behavior in unintended or potentially harmful ways. DOT does not systematically audit, verify, or sanitize the content of user-published Assets for prompt injection attacks, hidden instructions, or other adversarial payloads.

You acknowledge that:

  • Installing and applying Assets from the registry may alter AI behavior in ways that are not immediately apparent from the Asset description
  • You should review the content of any Asset before installing and applying it to your AI environment
  • DOT is not liable for any harm, data loss, or unintended actions caused by malicious or poorly crafted Assets published by third-party users

9. Third-Party AI Services

The Service facilitates interaction with third-party AI model providers (such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and others) through tools like DOT Studio and compatible AI coding assistants. DOT is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or responsible for these third-party providers.

You are solely responsible for:

  • Complying with the terms of service, usage policies, and acceptable use policies of any third-party AI providers you use in conjunction with DOT
  • Managing your own API keys, billing, and rate limits with those providers
  • Ensuring that your use of DOT Assets does not violate the content policies of the underlying AI model providers

DOT shall not be held liable for any charges, account suspensions, or other consequences resulting from your use of third-party AI services.

10. Multi-Agent Orchestration (Acts)

Acts enable automated orchestration of multiple AI agents (Performers) that can execute tasks sequentially, in parallel, or through conditional routing — with minimal or no human intervention during execution.

You acknowledge that:

  • Orchestrated AI agents may produce compounding errors, take unexpected paths, or generate unintended side effects across chained execution steps
  • You are solely responsible for designing, testing, and monitoring Act workflows before and during execution
  • DOT does not monitor, intervene in, or guarantee the correctness of Act execution flows
  • Any actions taken by AI agents during Act execution — including file modifications, API calls, or data processing — are your sole responsibility

11. Sensitive Information in Assets

Assets published to the registry are publicly accessible. You are solely responsible for ensuring that your published Assets do not contain:

  • Personal or personally identifiable information (PII)
  • API keys, passwords, tokens, or other credentials
  • Proprietary business logic, trade secrets, or confidential information
  • Internal company policies, processes, or infrastructure details
  • Data subject to regulatory compliance requirements (GDPR, HIPAA, etc.)

DOT does not scan for or filter sensitive information in published Assets. Once an Asset is published, it may be downloaded, cached, or redistributed by other users. DOT is not responsible for any data exposure resulting from user-published content.

12. MCP Server & Local Environment Security

The DOT CLI operates as an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server that runs within your local environment and interfaces with AI coding assistants. While the MCP server's operations are confined to the .dance-of-tal/ workspace directory:

  • The MCP server exposes tools that AI assistants can invoke automatically based on conversation context
  • You are responsible for understanding which tools and capabilities your AI assistant has access to through the DOT MCP server
  • DOT is not liable for any unintended actions, data modifications, or security incidents that occur through the interaction between AI assistants and the MCP server
  • You should review your AI assistant's permissions and tool-use policies to ensure they align with your security requirements

13. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Publish Assets containing malicious code, prompt injections, malware, or security exploits
  • Impersonate other users or publish under namespaces you do not own
  • Use the Service to harass, abuse, or harm others
  • Attempt to disrupt, overload, or interfere with the Service infrastructure
  • Scrape or collect user data without consent
  • Publish Assets that intentionally misrepresent their functionality or purpose

14. Intellectual Property

The DOT platform, branding, and documentation are the intellectual property of the DOT team. The DOT CLI and Studio are open-source software. Official presets in the @dot-preset namespace are curated from open-source projects and are subject to their respective licenses.

15. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us. Upon account deletion, your published Assets may be removed from the registry.

16. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee:

  • The accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any Assets in the registry
  • Uninterrupted or error-free operation of the Service
  • The persistence or availability of registry data
  • That AI behaviors produced by installed Assets will meet your expectations

17. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, DOT and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to damages resulting from AI-generated outputs, prompt injection attacks, data loss from registry operations, multi-agent orchestration failures, sensitive data exposure in published Assets, or conflicts arising from Asset installations.

18. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, store, use, and protect your information across all DOT components (website, CLI, Studio, and registry). Please review it carefully.

19. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. Material changes will be communicated via the Service.

20. Contact
